The Next Film Productions is a new Mollywood film production and distribution company founded by actor Ijaaz Ebrahim and his friends Suhail Shaji and Sangeeth Krishna. The company was recently officially launched by the founders through their social media platforms by announcing a casting call for their first project which is an untitled short movie that will be directed by one of the co-partner Sangeeth Krishna.
As we know Ijaaz Ebrahim is an actor who started his acting debut throughout his role in the movie “An International Local Story” directed by Harisree Ashokan. He then signed for few movies in Malayalam and later got delayed due to Covid-19 lockdown. He has also been cast as lead characters in several short films before his debut into feature films.
“ I was in a plan to start a production house from years back, I used to discuss it with Suhail Shaji who is one of my best friend and business partner. lockdown period really made us feel free to think and plan everything, by the way, we joined with Sangeeth Krishna an experienced film associate director. That made The Next Film Productions.” said Ijaaz Ebrahim.
Suhail Shaji is a media veteran and an assistant director with an overall experience of 11 years in the media industry. Suhail and Ijaaz together formed a Media company named Mollywood Mad in 2014. They have promoted more than 100 Malayalam films including Charlie, Varathan, Njan Prakashan, Unda, and Puli Murugan to date. Suhail has directed a short film title “Ariyathe” in 2016 and currently, he is in the script work for his directorial debut in the feature film “Oru Typical Kaamukan” the movie will be releasing under their own production banner.
On the other side, Sangeeth Krishna has worked as a camera and art assistant in movies including Kaadan, Kumki 2, Vijay’s Master, and lots of other Tamil films along with a Bollywood film called Haathi Mere Saathi which is a Hindi remake of Kumki 2.
“We are currently in discussions about our production’s first feature film both in Tamil and Malayalam. The casting will be some of the top names in South Indian Cinema. necessary details will be announcing soon” said Ijaaz Ebrahim.
