2020 has been a tough year for everyone. With a nationwide lockdown being implemented from 24 March, a lot of the economic sectors were hampered severely. The entertainment industry of Nepal—Kollywood has been halted because of COVID-19.

The industry had already released some movies on the big screen at the beginning of the year; but some movies did not get the chance and as a result, they could not get released this year.

Aama:

This movie which made many mothers-daughters duos full of tears was released on February 21, 2020. The movie is written and directed by Dipendra K. Khanal and Surakshya Panta starred as the main character named Aarati, along with other prominent actors like Mithila Sharma and Tika Pahari. The movie had received many good reviews from the audience.

Selfie King:

This movie revolves around a Nepali comedian played by Bipin Karki; it shows the ups and downs in his professional commitment and personal life during his journey to a far remote region of Nepal for a performance. The movie is written and directed by Bishal Sapkota and stares Laxmi Bardewa, Abhay Baral, and Jiban Bhattarai and was released on February 7, 2020.

Sanglo:

Sanglo is an action movie starring Biraj Bhatta, Nikita Chandak, Jayananda Lama, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, and Prakash Shah. The movie is also directed by Biraj Bhatta himself. The movie is a return of the action star Biraj Bhatta in his true hero style. The movie is written by Shivam Adhikari.

Senti Virus:

This is a comedy-drama movie starring Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire in lead roles along with Dayahang Rai, Wilson Bikram Rai, Buddhi Tamang, and Rajaram Poudel. The film revolves around the marital dispute between the characters of Sitaram and Kunjana caused due to the election in the Kavrepalanchowk district. It is written by Kumar Kattel and Dipak Acharya and is directed by Ram Babu Gurung and it was released on February 21, 2020.

Love Diaries:

As the name suggests, it is a romantic comedy movie starring Sushil Shrestha, Rubeena Thapa, and Bishwojit Rimal. The movie was released on this year’s Valentine’s Day. The movie is written by Madhu Bastola and directed by Saurav Chaudhary.
